Data Collection
GoMotive collects personal information through various channels to provide and improve our services. When you create an account, request a demo, or contact our team, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, job title, and fleet size. When you use our platform, we collect operational data including GPS location data from vehicles and assets, dashcam video footage, electronic logging device records, vehicle diagnostics and fault codes, driver behavior data, fuel transaction records, and maintenance logs. We also collect technical data automatically when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, time spent on pages, and click patterns. Additionally, we may collect information from third-party sources such as fuel card providers, TMS platforms, and other integrated services that you authorize to share data with GoMotive. We only collect data that is necessary to deliver our services, improve your experience, and fulfill our contractual and legal obligations.
Use of Data
GoMotive uses the personal and operational data we collect for the following purposes: to provide, maintain, and improve our connected operations platform and all associated services; to process your account registration, manage your subscription, and provide customer support; to deliver real-time GPS tracking, AI-powered safety alerts, compliance monitoring, and fleet analytics; to generate reports including IFTA fuel tax reports, Hours of Service summaries, safety scorecards, and maintenance schedules; to train and improve our artificial intelligence and machine learning models that power features like dashcam event detection and predictive maintenance; to communicate with you about your account, service updates, new features, and promotional offers (with your consent where required); to detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems; to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes; and to conduct research and analysis to improve our products and better understand fleet industry trends. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Data Storage
GoMotive stores your personal and operational data on secure servers located in the United States, hosted by leading cloud infrastructure providers that maintain SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and other industry-standard certifications. We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you close your account, we will retain your data for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements — typically no longer than 36 months after account closure unless a longer retention period is required by law. Operational data such as GPS logs, dashcam footage, and ELD records are retained in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements (for example, FMCSA requires ELD records to be retained for a minimum of six months). You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at

We require all third-party service providers to enter into data processing agreements that obligate them to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. We only share the minimum amount of data necessary for each third party to perform their specific function. GoMotive does not sell your personal information to third parties. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, and we will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.

Our security measures include encryption of data in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher and encryption of data at rest using AES-256; multi-factor authentication for all platform accounts; role-based access controls that limit data access to authorized personnel only; regular security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments conducted by independent third-party firms; continuous monitoring of our systems for suspicious activity and potential threats; employee security training and background checks for all team members with access to customer data; incident response procedures that enable rapid detection, containment, and notification in the event of a data breach; and physical security measures at our data center facilities including biometric access controls and 24/7 surveillance. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we are committed to maintaining industry-leading security practices and continuously improving our defenses.
